Joel here to emphasize on what Marvin posted.

People never seem to pronounce the band's name correctly. Especially the MCs! It's always like, levesez, or leevases. Leroy got so tired of it, now he gives English lessons to them before we go up stage! The MC in SIGS was so scared that she would pronounce it wrongly that she asked dozens of times to make sure she pronounced it correctly. And she did! yeah! finally someone got it correct!

Okay okay, so here I am to show all you faithful blog readers the videos! But before i post the acoustic version of "The Day I'm Right", allow me to show you some extremely cool videos.

Everybody so loves drum solos. Who cares about guitar solos, or whatever solos.

This is Joel. Doing a double bass drum solo for the very first time. Time to put on your earphones! You wouldn't be able to hear anything if you don't use it.



That was nothing. This is Leroy's drum solo ! If you felt tremors when you were somewhere in JB, its not an earthquake! It's just Leroy on the drums.



Thomas' first drum solo was an embarrassment a big hit ! Girls from SIGS would kill just to get a picture with him. Thomas was so glad a hot chick (according to him) asked for his phone number. He was overjoyed! Couldn't sleep that night.

Imagine what would happen if girls saw this video. whoa.



Girls, stop drooling.

Right. Next up would be a video you would never imagine in your wildest dreams. Check it out.



I know you're most probably like.. speechless right now. Even to me, this is the first time I've seen Marvin sitting in front of the drums!

And I just realized. I don't have a video of Shahrul on the drums. I have no idea why. Sorry to all you Shahrul fans!

The 10 things....(part 2 ) - the sequel

Here's a continuation from the last post ...

I need to complete this list . It's a must. Gauze.

Number 5. Did you know that Levasiz has a knack for playing in the dark . Weird ?... Some might say so but it's pretty cool , isn't it ? We're probably a band of superheroes with superpowers that enables to play music in the dark. We even made an acoustic version of "The Day I'm Right" in the dark. The video will be inside the blog sooner than you could pronounce Le ' Vasiz right .

4. Have you ever wondered , How does LeVasiz end up with tons of videos of themselves? Who does all the filming of their performances and a lot more ?
Well, here's the secret. Levasiz is secretly connected to an underground branch of Mediacorp which is currently named Mediacrap- It changes it's name every now and then to protect it's identity. Marvin of LeVasiz is the main link between the two companies. He's the one who carries that funny looking camera which is constantly accused by the tabloids of being the dangerous AK47( a gun which shoots you down like a parachute ). 3.What's in number 3 ? aha.....ya. I got it . Did you know that LeVasiz' multi-talented Lead Guitarist, Shahrul knows everything about the complexes in lead guitar playing( he can give you any solo you want. Han Solo also can )but he doesn't know the most basic thing in the arts of guitar playing. HE DOESN"T KNOW HOW TO PLAY AND READ CHORDS. Oh My gauze!


Just because he didn't know that the chord in the picture is called G , Shahrul got a G grade for his chord progression setara exam.


2.Now , here we go . Stories of all stories. The story behind the making of Le'Vasiz. Did you know that LeVasiz was actually a result of a MTV production called 'Making The Band'. Didn't think so ? hahahaha. Well , now you know . This special show wasn't shown on worldwide television and MTV because they filmed the show , 'Making The Band ' without putting a tape inside the camera. So, everything wast awfully lost. Too Bad. The show was mommentarily hyped up in the US to be the biggest reality series show in the planet and was said to be even bigger than the old guard, American Idol but it came to no show at the end of the day. You got lucky this time Simon Cowell ! but heck, the competition to find the final 5 to represent LeVasiz still went on.

People of all ages , genders, colours and races were present for the "Making The Band:Levasiz" audition.
The whole process was long and winding as stiff competition was all around but..............things got easier when they finally found the whacky 5 to represent and wear the Levasiz name. So , This is how Le'Vasiz came about. It was a unanimous by the judges . The winners of the MTV production "Making The Band" are in the picture below.

Guys and Gals,
Ladies and gentlemen,
Our lovely visitors and not to forget , the members of Levasiz.
The hidden secret that LeVasiz has been biting their nails to expose. Here's the conclusion of the end of the line.
Thomas, the guy that plays bass for LeVasiz was apparently the lead vocalist for the Levasiz's first ever performance. He sang 'Welcome to my death ' a simple plant coverback then if I'm not mistaken. So, you could say that levasiz started with Thomas tackling both bass and lead vocalist jobs all at one time. Leroy wasn't there in our first performance because he suffered from some kind of illness that will be explained later.



Later on, Thomas got sacked as lead vocalist and returned to his original job of playing bass. He was too Gayish pinkish to be considered a vocalist by the tabloids. Sorry ,Thomas ! Pink really isn't the new black.

Here's a short post ..... that will eventually turn out to be long.

The 10 things you didn't know about Le Vasiz ........jeng jeng jeng (drumroll)


All of the stuff mention below may be the closest LeVasiz has ever got into exposing their dark, bad ,funny, cynical side . The content below may also show-and-tell the things that you never knew about LeVasiz.

Here's the list
Let me start from bottom to top...or the inverse....or........

10. Le Vasiz has never jammed in a jamming studio before. Never! A pretty weird thing for a band , i might
say. We've been a band for almost 3 years already, but we've never paid for a jamming session . That's
pretty cool, huh ? Well, we got our own places of jamming. Not telling.

This is where the music is made . That particular room at the right of the picture.

9. Levasiz has a bad habit of taking too much glucose between jamming sessions and practices. The only form of liquid we seem to consume during jamming sessions is the one that could get you high, COKE, i mean Coca-Cola ( not to be CONFUSED with the drug,cocaine) . Don't be surprise if the whole band suffers from diabetes in the near future . See us in hospital!



8. What will no.8 be .....erm.... aha....LeVasiz never fails to go daytona-ing together. We like to drive you see, but since we're still not legal , daytona-ing is fast becoming the alternative for all of us. If you don't know what the fug heavens daytona is , you've been living a life under a tempurung / coconut shell . You know the peribahasa
' seperti katak di bawah tempurung '.

7. For the record, Le Vasiz has never finish 1st in anything. Eventhough, we've join a number of battle-of-the-bands , the closest we ever got was the one that comes in second or runners-up.We got 3rd in our fist battle-of-the-bands competition and the rest were all runner-up finishes. But still, not too bad for a noob band like us, huh ?

6. Here's a fact that you never knew . The band members of LeVasiz are of different races , every single one in LeVasiz is different from the other. Leroy is pure Chinese, Shahrul is a Malay and has a bit of an indian blood, Well Marvin is Kadazan and has a 1/4 chinese blood, Thomas is pure indian( I think ) and Joel is a Chindian. So , do you see the semangat muhibah among the band members of LeVasiz ? We're a multi-racial band, you know! now that's cool.....Fuyoo!

But we always fade away............

Musically...arcanely...right !

A'ight, another week of achievement for LeVasiz. We made progress after all.

For the past weekend, LeVasiz had participated in The Pertandingan Muzikal Daerah Johor Bahru 2007(that's what it says on the trophy) that was held in SIGS . Well , believe or not, we finish as runner-up in the band dan vokal category! Shucks... another school that 'sweet child not mine ' went out as winners of the battle of the bands.

What we did ? and how did we do ?

All in all , we did okay i guess. We weren't too happy with the PA system and the music technics though . For example, the mics were not working (big probelm for us ). We weren't happy with the hall we performed in , the audience weren't too cause it was a place where you had to perspire a lot. We sweat the hell out of our own music.
BUt the one thing that we're happy about is that we were finally able to finally showcase 2 new songs originally composed by us , LeVasiz. We came what we came for, which was to play our new songs . Goz.... The two new songs that were inside our setlist were Midnight Arcane and The Day I'm Right. Both were songs with good melodies that had the judges feeling real high and excited. We received comments from 2/3 of the judges saying that we should have won( Not Lying!). Our performance had a bit of a bump here and there, especially the first one but , In the end of the day , it was a above average performance. Not . cool...

The rest of our competitors were shite / rubbish great too. They screamed their lungs out and sang as if they were living the lifestyle of the rich and infamous . Lovely, huh ? of course not la ....ish. I should stop commenting on the rest of the bands here.

Another thing that'll like to mention is a special thanks to those who came to watch/suppot us , you guys and gals. You know who you are , don't you ? and the organisers, SIGS and not to forget, ourselves. Leroy was amazing with his vocals, Marvin and Shahrul slided away into their own paradigms , Thomas was the pinky of many and Joel should have been awarded the best drummer in the world !

Break the brakes

LeVasiz is in urgent need of a vocalist.


while jumping about, cursing a stupid rule which the organisers of the SIGS MUZIKAL had set regarding the band competition, Vocalist Leroy had to be stretchered off due to some unforeseen circumstances.

Rules stipulate:

1. a maximum of 4 members ONLY are allowed per band (we got 5)
2. only one band is allowed per school (our school has got tons, who sound like the PCD)(some of them even got pussy cats)


3. spectators are expected to mantain orderly and good mannered behaviours during the course of the "Muzikal" (aha....)


4. you'll need a mark of approval from your school to be able to join (and then get forced to play in the Famously Infamous school marching BAND, sure.. Psst. they've all got pussy cats and dolls except Shahrul)


5. No unsur-unsur negatif dalam persembahan (are the words loser, or high, or goodbye, or crime positive terms? oh, we'll surely lose)


6. 20 marks goes to "Warna Pitch" or literally colour of pitch. (Change the "P" to "B" and man, we sure win, we're damn colourful, really and we got dogs, no pussy cats.)

after shouting for a good 2 minutes a(t the stupidity of these ordinances, Leroy broke his voice, and now a whiny song is going to sound whiny.

Thankfully, help was at hand.

Another song

As i'm sitting at the corner of my room right now , I'm looking at the stars , seeing how they will not shine on me, wearing my superstars , drinking my cup of latte and turning on my favourite song .

Okay strikethrough the whole part above. That was complete shite. You may ask me , " What the fug ?".

Well , Le vasiz has been busy for the past week or so. You know , the normal stuff with this and that , schools and fools , and the rest that never brings out the 'right' in us. Seriously , the whole of last week was about Levasiz trying to get their songs the way they want it to be. We manage to cover at least two . Now, that's progress for LeVasiz . More songs, more progress.

So, all that really matters now, is our song choices . We're on a mission to kill to songs in one day. We're gonna do The Day I'm Right which really is a beautifully written song which contains syllables that might take you away to a dreamscape of emoness and melancholy. The other is an uptempo, catchy tune which is overdriven with a loud guitar roar mixed in with a bit of that and this. It's bringing britpop back in a way . It is lyrically influenced by a midnight's stand and the tune is highly besotted with guitars. As for this song , it hasn't been on the blog. So , It's gonna be posted in the blog today .

More songs, More progress

Songs....This comes into our lives every now and then. Where wall-of-sounds are built through a lyrical bridge that leads to love , life, friendship, hope , escape, beauty, oblivion and the timeless freedom of normal human beings .
Some are believe to be as lovely as a live centre-piece which sails you away like a ship that follows a melody of hope to an ocean of orchestral longing , some are delicate , melancholic , and profoundly poeticly driven straight from the heart and some are like raindrops that rise upwards into a star-burst constellation overhead.

So , what does make a band the way they are ? What really defines them ?
You may say this and that but the truth is according to a traditional belief it's all about their songs and the tune that comes with it. The songs, without a doubt, are the ones that'll make you sing-a-long , cry out loud , tap your feet, clap you hands and play along. They were the ones that stand next to you as you were getting high and cheered you up as you were feeling low( emo in your language today)

As someone had said in the past , I quote,"...-Beyond the story , above the hair, further than the formidable attitude - the songs you loved and still do are the ones that are unconciously living inside your souls like the best friends you ever had, who kicked your backsides when you were down , kept your dreams alive, made you stay up all night, consoled you in the morning and dared you to live forever....." unquote.
So it's obviously important for songs to come around the bend as they are connected to our lifes.
From here , the stand of more songs, more progress must not fall.

Well, like some demented fellon spilling his bag of swag, every band has a song that lays out the bounty . Whether it's line by line, riff by riff , Le Vasiz are still searching for that 5 to 6 minute opus which could define the band itself and cancelling out all the other songs which sounded like Bla...bla...bla...and diddly...diddly....Na na na.

As we are saying this crap right now, everyone's still living in a dreamer's generation that longs for a better, funnier, bigger and brighter way of life that lives rising up from concrete rubble like the beanstalk's of glittering belief ( a traditional one)
So let's all get ourselves out from this dreamscape paradigm
'cause these could be the best days of our lives.
They still were.
And they still are .

Lately, levasiz hasn't been putting their music caps on. It's been a decade or so since we produce some unproduce material. We're talking about self-made songs with self-written lyrics and self-plagiarisedcomposed music here . Our curse ! Well, we'll never run out of material ,that's for sure. To prove that point of mine , this post is gonna feature another written song. There's another point that comes with it though , Levasiz will never produce shite material- this came straight from the mouths of the people from MTV, music producers, Simon Cowell and the rest of the world !

So, it all started when I woke up from asleep and I found myself in music heaven. I met someone and he pass me down this..........

Ooops! i should stop on the long-winding meaningless story.

Erm....This new material isn't any different like the ones before. Like the ones before, it contain the normal gaya bahasa like hiperbola, metafora, aliterasi ,asonansi and the other thrash you wouldn't want to hear from me .
Now, the un-polymerized explanation
Well like all our songs of the past , LeVasiz has and will never run out from the term 'Melodism' as we're all melodist. NOT. So ,this should be no different.Maybe a bit? Aha.... I guess I should just cut the crap . Before I lay the new stuff out, i would like to highlight that in this particular song, it' s very much a coldplayesque cum oasisesque cum beatles-esque kind of material . (laughs )
Hold it ! all claims were falsely true, In all honesty(winks), this song thruthfully(winks again) has been and will always be a LeVasiz-type of song.

So , here it goes... the conclusion....
