I WANNA LIVE IN A DREAM IN MY RECORD MACHINE

This has got to be music download month !

Beyond belief.

Those are the two words to describe the phenomenon happening in the music downloading business right now.

The biggest week of downloading music since the BC's , AC's or whatever C's(well, the best c in the world is the c for coldplay of course) is here. It's also a breathe of fresh air to finally being able to indulge yourself with a blend of good music once again.

COLDPLAY !!!

OASIS!!!

No. I'm not being oblivious of other kinds and genres of music out there, the ones that are around you and me. I'm not neglecting other bands or other forms of music out there. I don't hate the radio because they play shite tunes everyday. I don't hate american music(maybe a bit) . I don't think today music is that bad. I have to admit, some are pretty good. But at this moment of time, when you put ear and thought to it, it's simply hard to ignore the superiority of these two british bands(coldplay & oasis) when compared to others.

Take a weighing tool. Like the ones in your physics book. Oh, nevermind, use the barisan nasional symbol instead. Lets start experimenting. Put coldplay or oasis or both on the right plate, and put any other random band, artist or musician on the other. Pick a right scale. Then observe. Results will show a huge marginal tilt to the right. For precision, consistency and accuracy, repeat it all over again. 10 times out of 10 you'll get the same answer. Unless you put beatles on the left of course. The fab four are too legendary to be contested. Conclusion : There is a border/line between great and good music. In this case, the great was on the right of course.

Okay, enough of that. I'll get back on a hard day's morning night of searching and downloading.

First stop.

I said what I said for "Violet Hill". Fantastic song.

A Spell a rebel yell

Then, in a continuous format, 'A spell a rebel yell', which is a B-side to 'Violet Hill' . 'A spell....' is another different and abnormal tune of theirs. Once again, they've gone out of their safety zone. Difference made prominent by their new profound love for studio effects and experimentation. The reverse tape being the most obvious here (the song rhythm). Not the best of melodies in this number, but the experimentation should be applauded. Worth a listen, still. Guess it only deserved a B-side. Thank gauze for that.

Viva La Vida

Next. A grandeur. A swift-moving minimalist orchestra. 'Viva La Vida'. As in the song itself, not the album. A new single from their new album of the same title(part of it though). Released by iTunes, just yesterday. So what's it all about ? Okay, if the last two didn't possess the 'whoa' factor you expected of them, then this definitely will, no maybes. It's the most commercial, light hearted and anthemic number since anything they've ever created. Get's the world singing along in no time. Good song for the rafters. Resoundingly good like past anthems , coldplay executed the track with perfection, sounding a collage of collective sounds and instruments. Mixing part of their old remedies and some of the new formula. The frisky violins, jaunty pianos, melodious strings, electronic-sounding synthesizers and almost hidden guitar riffs made it a song to love and to enjoy as you carry out your long daily exercises of living life to the extent. Long live life.'Viva La Vida' provides listeners with a scent of unity, togetherness and an element of day-dream cum imagery that we long for. A story in its own write. It endears a sound for the big events. Very world cup-ish.Who knows? Euro 2008 might take this into account. That'll be nice. Overall, it's my favourite among the new stuff and has surely reignited my love for them . I like coldplay's idea of going the lengths in trying to change the phase of music. Brilliant.

How does it sound?

Pretty good, and it is a stronger cut than "Violet Hill." It opens with a triumphant string melody, and it's the violins that carry much of the song. It's a cleaner-sounding cut than the more aggressive "Violet Hill," but it still glides along with an urgency not heard often enough in Coldplay's music.
Moments later the song gets more interesting, with a flash of rhythm momentarily sending a more electronic-sounding beat to the background. References to Catholicism grace the song, and Martin repeatedly declares that Saint Peter will be calling his name.

But never mind the biblical nods. The song further reveals the Coldplay of "Viva La Vida" to be a hungrier, more interesting band. Indeed, as the song builds, strings disappear into a twittering of electronic atmospheres that bridge the verses.

From Coldplay, we move on to the biggest thing ever since the beatles, Oasis.

Without a doubt, Oasis are still a force to be reckon with. Making it big, producing timeless tunes, giving your life something to live for. The same band that made cool Brittania hot and brought you hits like the english anthem we all know, "Don't look back in anger", the impossible is nothing " Live Forever", and that I never get tired of song,"Wonderwall". Yes, they're album's coming out in september but before that, a few studio demos had leaked out. And two or three of the tracks might be listed into their album setlist. I'll give you a heads up on two of them

"I wanna live a dream( in my record machine)"

It's already a classic in my opinion. Having that clean sound in the beginning which later evolves to the sounds from "standing in the shoulder of giants". It has the elements of their last album with the acoustic guitar but also oasis tunes of old with the solo in the middle eight. Again, noel gallagher's ability to appeal and breathe dreamery to the public eye is astounding. Pronouncing hope, making us feel one with the millions, living a positive lie, defining working-class, all we ever wanted is to dream and this song does it distinctively. Better still, if it's in a record machine. One word : Mind-blowing.

Stop the clocks

Great title. Took words out from my mouth. The same words uttered every single day of my life. Stop the clocks,man..... I need a break. A melancholy number with a sincere shout to the almighty in a request to grant him a world he could turn around. Like a book, stopping the clocks would be like putting a bookmark in between pages. You stop time. That's what I get at least.
When the night is over, they'll be no sound. Great lyrics. What else can i say about "Stop the clocks"? Blood brilliant. Another classic.

Nothing on me

An okay song. It didn't get me off my seat though. An All rocker tune. Rough vocals by LIAM. Still, a listen, you should.

There. Point and post made. I'll be dreaming.
