Le' Vasiz : The start of a new era

How should I start this chapter ?...........One day........Once upon a time............AH! Who cares !!!
I'll do it my style...........

What should I be writing about first?..........ah ya the origin of Le'Vasiz.
Le'Vasiz was created in early March 2005. It all happened when 5 musically-inclined friends started talking about making a band .We had this discussion while waiting for the van/bus to arrive...........The 5 guys mention were Leroy, Joel, Shahrul, Thomas and me, Marvin. It was ideal for us to think of such things like making a band because all of us have been friends since primary school, most of us are staying around Perling, all of us sat the same van and all of us love music . In the end, we came to an agreement to make a band and decided to register ourselves for the 2005 FOA(Festival of Arts) auditions.

Luckily for Le' Vasiz, they had a drummer who could supply every single musical instrument you need to orchestrate a band practice or a jamming session. He even supplied us a jamming room which was actually his music room. Till today, it's still Le' Vasiz official jamming room/practice room thanks to our drummer, Joel.

In our debut performance, in middle March 2005, we actually screwed our performance and gave a really mediocre-like performance. The first song we ever performed was Simple Plan's 'Welcome to my life' but it really sounded like 'welcome to my death'. One of our main reasons for our shit performance was most probably our vocals. Our lead vocalist, Leroy had to be absent from the auditions because of scrabble reasons. So, Thomas had to sing and play bass at the same time, Joel on drums, and me and Shahrul with the guitars. In the end of the day we still got through the auditions and the other bands were not that impressive either . After that experience, all of us knew it was time to step up our game and play some real quality music.

After a long break , Le'Vasiz got back together again. We had a meeting right after the break and the talk was about FOA(Festival of Arts) battle of the bands. The band got together and tried to pick a song to play for FOA. We had our options, we tried playing songs from simple plan, greenday, yellowcard, the wonders and many other bands battling out today in MTV . Too bad or should I say luckily, all of the songs we tried din't turn out well. Those songs didn't clicked with the band and it felt like total rip offs.It wasn't us at all and it wasn't making trade fair. If we had played their songs today, we wouldn't be as good as we are today. We would have sounded like $#!t...... and we wouldn't have stayed together as Le' Vasiz.

In the end of the day, It was all about making a decision and not regretting it later. It wasn't easy and it wasn't a decision that had to be made by a group of scientists. As we were in the room(jamming) looking at the clocks ticking past by us slowly, the flow of melodious music and the thought of playing our own song started playing through our skin and bones. We finally decided to play the song that Leroy had written in late 2004, "Standing Next To You". We put in a lot of effort in making this song a real succes or should I say good enough for FOA.

Then It came FOA (Festival of Arts) that was held in the spastik hall, we were given the chance to perform 4th out of 11 bands in the battle of the bands competition. We took our chance and we nailed it with our own song "Standind Next To You". We gave a satisfying performance that saw the crowd waving their hands in the air and enjoying what they see and hear on the stage. After seeing 11 bands battling it out, it was time for the outcome of our band's performance. We got an excellent satisfying finishing of 2nd runners-up in the battle of the bands(botb) competition, we were overjoyed as it was our debut botb competition and we, Le' Vasiz only lost to two experienced bands . The experience ignited up
the whole band. It made us dream of making it bigger in the near future.

The end of 2005
